Biodinâmica carried out another field trip, this time under two projects: Active vegetation and Periphytic algae Monitoring, both in Tete.
This project has as main objective to analyse the specific effects of the accumulation of heavy metals in the terrestrial food chains, affected by the mining activity in Tete. The project lasts for 2 years, with several samplings throughout the dry season.
Last week, the Biodynamics team, represented by Cláudio Álvaro, was present in the campaign work, collecting samples of the study plants at the various sampling points, which will be later analysed in the laboratory.
Last week, the fourth and last field trip of this project was carried out, where the Biodynamic team, where we sampled periphytic algae in the Moatize and Tete rivers.
This project, which began in February 2016, thus ends the samplings and had as main objective to determine and evaluate the changes in the composition and structure of the periphytic algae, in order to evaluate the ecological quality of the water of the rivers and to perceive the possible influence in these Mining activity in the region.
