Two members of Biodinâmica staff participated in a training about Climate Changes Adaptation and Reduction of Disaster Risk, held in Pemba, Cabo Delgado
The USAID, within its Coastal Cities Adaptation Program (CCAP), promoted a course about Climate Changes Adaptation (CCA) and Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) directed to technical and municipal managers, institutions of local government, local universities and civil society organizations.
The course was held between the 13th and the 16th of September 2016, in the Provincial Direction of Public Construction, city of Pemba. It aimed to train technicians and managers of Pemba and Mocimboa da Praia in the subjects of CCA and DRR, so they can start dealing proactively with this issues and better develop and implement projects, development plans, regulations and adaptation and reduction of disasters risk measures in their municipalities. The course also aimed to build knowledge on the preservation of ecosystems. During these four days, several practical tools were presented and the participants did a number of exercises that can be an example for the municipalities implement.
This training allowed to enrich the knowledge and skills of the participants for development of viable strategies to increase the society adaptability and reduce its exposure to the risk of disasters, reducing the loss or human lives.
