Biodinâmica attends workshop of the project SPACES in Pemba

Between 15 and 17 September the Workshop “Using the future to make better decisions in the present. Linking poverty alleviation and sustainable coastal ecosystems in Cabo Delgado “integrated into the project SPACES was held in Pemba.

This workshop, held in Pemba, in Raphaels Hotel, between the 15th and 17th September 2015, is the second of the project SPACES (Sustainable Poverty Alleviation through Ecosystem Services). The objectives were to:

  1. Develop an understanding of the current and future changes in poverty and coastal ecosystems in Cabo Delgado;
  2. Use the future scenarios developed during the First Seminar to explore possibilities of policy interventions. Results will be presented to national and international stakeholders.

Biodinâmica was represented by Hugo Costa, who gave his contributions to the various activities, which occurred mainly in groups, with a large participation of the several citizens who attended the event.

SPACES is a research project led by the Stockholm University Resilience Centre, in collaboration with the Eduardo Mondlane University and other institutions in Mozambique, Kenya, and Europe, and is funded by ESPA – Ecosystem Services for Poverty Alleviation .
